THIS WAS A FREAKIN’ WEDDING.
I still remember my first meeting with Hannah, at a little Starbucks in downtown Toronto. We talked and talked about all of the details of her + Danilo’s destination wedding in Mayan Riviera, Mexico. Mexico was the perfect spot for them since they had friends and family from Canada, U.S and Brazil coming and wanted it to be a full experience! I was in LOVE with all of their plans.
As time flew by, it was finally time to board that flight and head down to Mexico!
Hannah had the sweetest travel canvas goodie bag with everything you could think of! Medication incase you were ill, cute itineraries for the week and little custom “passports” with a polaroid with them on it! SO CUTE.
I was greeted with such warmth by the whole group and couldn’t wait to spend the week with them. It started with a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, then of course the wedding day you will see below and followed by a brunch the next day. I also was able to do a post-married session with Hannah + Danilo, along with a few sessions with a few of their couple friends who were also there on the trip! I literally took SO MANY PHOTOS.
On the wedding day, they both got ready in separate locations, then had an aisle first look. When you look through this gallery, seriously take a minute and look at Danilo’s face! His reaction was AMAZING! Following the ceremony, we had family photos (I don’t include these in blog posts because there are so many of them aha), wedding party shots and then we snuck away to do vow readings. They opted to doing this alone, away from their family, because they wanted to be more comfortable with just the two of them (and me obviously lol).
Then it was the perfect time for Sunset photos! We literally had a blast, dancing and running around. It made for the BEST photos. Then we headed to the reception where there were a million speeches all in Portuguese, so one of their guests translated them for me so I could also enjoy all of the amazing stories about Hannah + Danilo. There was just so much love flustering around during this day, it was incredible!
Then we ended with the dancing portion of the night. Believe it or not but they opted for a dry wedding and you honestly couldn’t tell aha. They had SO much energy, it was freakin’ amazing and it was so much fun to photograph.
Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and I highly recommend going away and going for the destination wedding if this is something you’re considering. This resort is called The Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa incase you were wondering. There are so many photo locations as well.
Another great experience with this trip, was that we rented a car and drove to so many different tourist attractions and all over Tulum. Renting a car can save you so much money because once you arrive to an attraction like the Mayan Ruins, it’s only $5 to get in, verses $50/person when you do it through the resort.
Anyways! Enough of me babbling on – please enjoy the gallery! 🙂

This was one of the BEST day of our lives and I’m sooo happy that Maria documented it so beautifully for us. We still reminisce over this day and these pictures and we’re so in love with all these memories. It really was the wedding of our dreams and we’ve been lucky enough to have Maria document our engagement photos, wedding photos and now maternity photos- up next is family shots with our little one.
Thank you SO much Maria for your energy, your talent, and this beautiful gift you’ve given us to cherish these memories for years to come. We couldn’t be happier with the way it all came together
